Adelaide’s picturesque Victoria Park will host Round 3 of the Uni SA Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series (AHPVSS) this weekend.
After racing in the SA regional centres of Mt Gambier and Loxton for Rounds 1 and 2 respectively, this weekend’s event will take place in the heart of the state’s capital.
Victoria Park is an impressive acreage of parkland, and home to many events. The area incorporates the infield track section for the city’s Superloop Adelaide 500, a Round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, a major motor racing series on the national calendar. It is this smooth asphalt layout which provides the ideal HPV racing venue, and the availability of two different track variants.
In the shadow of the historic Victoria Park Grandstand, you will find numerous teams training here most weekends, but on this occasion, the park will be flooded with competitors, teams and supporters.
An attendance of around 3000 is expected as more than 200 teams compete on the weekend.
Saturday’s racing will see 57 Community Category teams take to the track, using the short configuration. Sunday, 162 School Category teams will be competing on the long circuit.
