Australian International Pedal Prix and the District Council of Loxton Waikerie have signed an agreement securing the staging of a HPV event in Loxton until 2020. Since its inception in 2014 the event has become an annual fixture in Loxton, check attracting more than 90 teams from throughout South Australia and Victoria to race on the challenging street circuit.
AIPP Chairman Andrew McLachlan said he was delighted to lock the event in. “The Loxton 6 hour race is a fantastic event, pharmacy incredibly well supported by the Council and local community and a real highlight on our calendar. We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with the Loxton community.”
Loxton Waikerie Mayor Leon Stasinowsky was likewise extremely pleased that the event had been secured for another 3 years. “Our community and businesses have really embraced this event and the competitors and spectators it attracts” he said. “Andrew and the AIPP team have approached this as a real partner with us and our community, which is one of the reasons for its success. We look forward to ways to grow the event and the benefits for our region.”
The 2017 race will be held on the weekend of 6 – 7 May.
