Loxton Lights Up

Team Relentless Trump Trikes – looking for maximum points at Loxton

Round 2 of the UniSA Australian HPV Super Series takes to the streets of Loxton this weekend. South Australia’s Riverland hub will see 96 HPV’s take over the town centre including series contenders Team Relentless Trump Trikes (Cat 4), sales St Martins Lutheran College Carbonated (Cat 3), order Holy Trinity Lutheran School entrants Avalanche and Tempest (Cat 2) and Naracoorte Primary School Blue Thunder 2 (Cat 1).

Category  4 – Open

Team Relentless Trump Trikes and Unhinged Unhinged will be looking to gain maximum points after finishing 2nd and 3rd by 10 laps in the state’s southern Round 1 encounter in the absence of series leader Wattle Racing Toothless. Toothless set the fastest lap of the Mt Gambier Round 1 event with a blistering 54.787 km/h on their way to victory. In doing so they claimed maximum points at the April 1 season opener on the McNamara Park circuit, but that lead is sure to be overtaken this weekend. Joining the fray will be USA based team Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s Rose Pedal, and it will be fascinating to see how they fair, and what they make of HPV racing Down Under.

Category 3 – Senior Secondary

Pembroke School Eric won’t be back to defend it’s series lead in Round 2. The team took a ‘take no prisoners’ approach in winning Round 1 and the setting fastest lap. St Martins Lutheran College Carbonated came across the line 2nd, more than 10 laps adrift, but will now be looking to take the series lead at Loxton if they can finish well in the points.

Category 2 – Junior Secondary

Like their older sibling, Pembroke School Boris won’t be in the Riverland this weekend. That gives the two Holy Trinity Lutheran School entrants, Avalanche and Tempest the opportunity to make their mark. Finishing 2nd and 3rd in Mt Gambier, they can now battle each other for the series lead. Will team orders come into play?

Category 1 – Primary

Holy Trinity Lutheran School Thunder and Naracoorte Primary School Blue Thunder 2 are another two teams taking the opportunity to progress in the series standings this weekend. Both had strong performances in Round 1 and will be looking for Category wins here on Sunday.

The race will be broadcast live on the GTrikes Loxton Pedal Prix Live Stream from 9.30am CST.
