Supercars and hpvs go back to back

The Bend Motorsport Park will host Supercars and HPVs over back to back weekends.

Mid year will be busy at The Bend Motorsport Park (The Bend) after it was announced yesterday the circuit will play host to Round 8 of the 2022 Supercars Championship on July 30/31. Australian International Pedal Prix (AIPP), organisers of the Uni SA Australian HPV Super Series, will now hold Round 4 of the Series the following weekend on Saturday 6 August 2022. It was scheduled to be held on 30 July 2022.

AIPP and The Bend Motorsport Park worked closely together during the course of 2021. The first HPV event was held at the circuit in May of this year and provided a great new experience. The relationship has continued to grow, and two events are scheduled for 2022. With the goodwill and corporation of both parties, the move to 6 August provides a clear weekend for Supercars to return to South Australia once again.

AIPP CEO Marcus Lacey said the outcome was pleasing, “The Bend Motorsport Park’s calendar is always in demand but we have been able to negotiate a move to the following weekend for Round 4 of the UniSA Australian HPV Super Series, with the Supercars and HPVs now racing on back to back weekend’s at The Bend in 2022. It’s a good result for all.”

Dr Sam Shahin, Managing Director, The Bend Motorsport Park said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have The Bend work alongside Australian International Pedal Prix to deliver another installment of what promises to be a magnificent event in 2022.  The 2021 was a sensational spectacle and I am absolutely certain that 2022 will take it to a whole new level.  We all cannot wait!
