The 34 HPV grid for today’s Cat 4 Rnd 3 race

Wattle Racing’s Toothless today sealed an important victory to take out the Category 4 race of the 2017 Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series Round 3 at Victoria Park.

Round 3 at Victoria Park got off to a roaring start, drug with 34 bikes taking the track in the Category 4 race.

The first lap saw Ben O’Connell in Trump Trikes Team Relentless average a remarkable 57 km p/h in a 1.24.24 minute lap.

Loxton pole winner, unhealthy Trump Trikes from Team Relentless, this and Toothless from Wattle Racing, fought it out for much of the race in search of the top podium positions. For much of the race, Toothless managed to hold a one lap lead, whilst Trump Rival another fierce competitor, hovered just 3 laps behind.

At 11 o’clock, Whipstick from Wattle Racing dropped 4 positions after a flat tyre caused by a tube that was pinched when fitted. The bike was carried across the track in a bid to get back onto the track as quick as possible. John Taylor, the team manager for the team said that it was a minor issue and an easy fix for the pit crew. Whipstick remained in 9th, seven laps behind their leading teammates, Toothless.

Cheshire Cat from Fast Cats Racing received a black flag at the half way mark mark for leaving the pits without using the marked pit lane. A warning was issued.

The win for Toothless, with a margin of 3 laps over Team Relentless’ Trump Trikes, puts the Bendigo based team in first place of the Series standings. Third was Team Relentless’ Trump Rival, a further 11 laps back. Full results http://bit.ly/2sDfxNb #AHPVSS
